In what seems to be a growing trend, we see that there are more local scammers who are tricking Malaysian companies who regularly make or receive payments from oversea partners.

The modus operandi is very simple. They normally will snoop into the conversation related to the transaction. When money transfer is about to happen, they will interject in the conversation on the behalf of the payment recipient. |

They will inform the payer that their account number has changed. Those who are not prudent will proceed to make the payment to scammer's account. |
