BackupAssist v7.2 launches new Exchange backup and remote restore tools

25th July 2013, Kuala Lumpur - BackupAssist v7.2 is officially launched this week.  It incorporates a powerful new Exchange Granular Recovery technology. Plus the ability for administrators to perform remote restores of Hyper-V and SQL data from the Central Administration console.

The new Exchange Granular Restore makes backing up and restoring Exchange data more efficient. It provides simpler Exchange protection through integration with current backup technologies like System Protection, File Protection and File Archiving as well as letting administrators search and preview individual mail items before restoring them.

With the Exchange Granular Restore, one backup is needed to do two jobs: protect the entire Exchange server and restore individual mail items. This reduces overall backup size and opens up the full range of storage destinations for Exchange backups.

As well as Exchange Granular Restore, BackupAssist v7.2 also includes two major new functions for Central Administration. Central Administration users can now remotely open and restore from fully functional versions of the Hyper-V Granular Restore Console and the SQL Restore Console.

With vast numbers of small and medium businesses looking to move to virtual infrastructure, remote access to specialized restore consoles will be a must for anyone who is making the virtualization move.

If you haven’t used BackupAssist before, you can get a fully functional, 30 day trial version of BackupAssist here. If you are already a BackupAssist customer with valid Upgrade Protection, you can upgrade to Version 7.2 over at the website.
