Taking Snapshots For BackUp Purpose
Please note that it is highly advisable for you to take regular snapshots of your virtual machine.
A snapshot is basically an image of the current state of your virtual machine. For example, below is a ProxyNow! that has just been configured.
So this is probably the best time for you to take a snapshot.
This could be done by clicking Snapshots | Take Snapshot
Give the snapshot a name, for example :
description + date (when the snapshot was taken)
Wait a moment for it to complete saving the snapshot.
Once the saving is done, you will notice that there is a snapshot here with the name that you specified.
The advantage of having a snapshot is that if something were to happen to your virtual machine, you can always go back to this state. So in the future, if you want to revert back to the state when you have just completed your configuration using the wizard, you can always do this:
Right click on the Snapshot and click Restore Snapshot
Note: Just to be safe, it is advisable for you to shutdown ProxyNow! before you take the snapshot.
Making copies of image file
After you have configured ProxyNow! and it is already working, we advise you to make a copy of your virtual machine image file. Just shut down your virtual machine and then go to the directory where your virtual machine’s image is located.
Right click on ProxyNow! 5 | Show in Explorer
In my case, it is in:
Computer>Local Disk(C:.)>Proxynow~5
Backup the whole directory by making a copy of it. Store it safely somewhere else.
So that if something happens in the future, you have a copy of a working image.
